PUBG MOBILE Esports has unveiled additional details for its 2026 competitive season, outlining changes to its global tournament structure, qualification systems and leadership team.
The announcement expands on the roadmap initially revealed during the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship, signaling what organizers describe as a broader and more accessible circuit for players worldwide.
Central to the update is the confirmation of two PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) events scheduled for 2026. Season 1’s main event will be held in Indonesia, while Season 2 will take place later in the year in Pakistan. Both tournaments will feature $500,000 prize pools. Registration for PMGO Season 1 opens in February, with the main event slated for June. Season 2 registration begins in June, followed by an October main event.

Each PMGO event will be preceded by the newly introduced “Road to PMGO” format. The system includes in-game qualifiers followed by national and regional competitions designed to determine participating teams.
Qualifiers for Season 1 will run from February through March, with national and regional tournaments scheduled between March and May. The Season 2 qualification window begins in June and extends through August. Teams will accumulate points based on match placements and eliminations, consistent with existing scoring models.

Organizers said more than 200 countries are expected to participate in the in-game qualifiers, reflecting an emphasis on expanding opportunities for amateur and emerging players. The roadmap also confirms the return of PMGC Points as the primary qualification mechanism for major events, including the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC). The system is intended to better measure year-round performance across regional and global competitions.
In addition to the PMGO events, PUBG MOBILE Esports will again participate in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. The PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) is scheduled for July and will feature 32 teams competing for a $3 million prize pool. The 2026 PMGC will conclude the season, bringing together 38 teams selected through PMGC Points, along with a host-region invite. The championship will be held in Turkiye.
The announcement also included leadership changes. Oliver Ye has been named senior director of global PUBG MOBILE Esports, succeeding James Yang, who will transition to a publishing-focused role. Organizers said the shift is aimed at supporting the title’s continued competitive growth.
