Subscribers to Blackpink’s official YouTube channel surpasses 80 million

The number of subscribers to Blackpink’s official YouTube channel surpassed 80 million, according to YG Entertainment Monday.

The record was reached at 4:38 a.m. Monday, six years and three months after the channel was established.

After the release of the music video of the girl group’s single “Pink Venom” from its upcoming full-length album “Born Pink,” 3 million people subscribed to the channel.

“Pink Venom” surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify as of Monday. It’s the girl group’s 24th song to surpass the record on the global music streaming platform.

The girl group currently has the most number of subscribers among global artists. After Blackpink, BTS, Justin Bieber, Marshmello and Eminem follow with 70.5 million, 69.9 million, 55.8 million and 53.3 million.

The accumulated number of views for all of the YouTube videos on the group’s channel exceeds 26 billion. The music videos for “Ddu-du Ddu-du” (2018) has over 1.9 billion views; “Kill This Love” (2019) has 1.6 billion views, “Boombaya” (2016) has 1.4 billion views and “As If It’s Your Last” (2017) and “How You Like That” (2020) have 1.2 billion views each. The girl group has a total of 33 videos which have each surpassed 100 million views.

“Born Pink” drops worldwide on Sept. 16. The girl group will embark on its “Born Pink” world tour to promote the new album from Oct. 15. A total of 36 locations for the tour have been announced so far. It will kick off in Seoul and continue to cities including Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, London, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bangkok, Abu Dhabi, Jakarta, Manila, Melbourne and Sydney.
