Palworld: Tides of Terraria Update Released

by Inven Global

The long-awaited crossover update between Palworld and Terraria—“Tides of Terraria”—which sparked enormous interest the moment it was announced, has finally arrived as of June 25.

The most notable change is that Terraria’s monsters are now appearing in Palworld. You’ll encounter them in the newly added Terraria Dungeon, and the materials you collect from defeating them can be used to craft Terraria-themed gear. Of course, they’re more than just foes to be slain. Like Pals, these monsters can be captured and trained, then deployed in combat or put to work gathering wood, mining ore, and more. In fact, the released trailer shows the capture of the Eye of Cthulhu—one of Terraria’s signature bosses—further raising fans’ excitement.

Terraria-themed gear includes six weapons and seven armor sets, among them the Meowmere, first unveiled in the year-end Feybreak update. Each piece boasts distinctive looks and powerful stats, and most eyes are on the Terra Blade—faithfully recreated to fire a blade-shaped energy wave just like in the original game. Alongside the Eye of Cthulhu, the Moon Lord—Terraria’s ultimate boss and arguably its greatest threat—makes its debut as a raid boss in Palworld, promising an unprecedented level of challenge.

“Tides of Terraria” doesn’t stop at collaboration content: it also introduces a host of new features to Palworld itself. Fishing, long requested by the community, is now live—complete with the thrill of reeling in your Pals. A salvage system lets you ride aquatic Pals and fish for surface or underwater resources, which you can then use to upgrade your weapons.

Three new exploration areas have opened up, each home to its own lineup of Pals. A new affinity system strengthens bonds over time: the longer you spend with a Pal, the more affinity they gain, unlocking stat boosts. Weaker Pals benefit most, giving them a real chance to shine. You can even sleep beside your Pals, a small but immersive addition that deepens your relationship.

Both enemy outposts and NPC villages have undergone sweeping changes. Enemy NPCs now build fortified bases and keep tight watch, raising the difficulty—but defeating them awards blueprints for their faction’s structures. NPC villages have been lavishly overhauled, with new mission systems that enhance interaction and deepen your ties to each settlement. To match the scope of these updates, the player level cap has been raised from 60 to 65, and a raft of new weapons has been introduced. New utility items also promise to enrich both exploration and combat.

New buildings round out the update. Here you can install various implants to overwrite a Pal’s passive skills—and even use special items to change a Pal’s gender. In the Arena, a new Single-Player Challenge Mode debuts. Victory earns Battle Tickets, which you can exchange for a variety of rewards. Spectator mode and customizable match rules—such as banning specific Pals—are just some of the many improvements. Truly a monumental update, version 0.6.0 “Tides of Terraria” offers content on the scale of a full expansion. Both Palworld and Terraria fans are poised to enjoy a fresh, richly varied experience.
