Throughout my gaming career, there has always been one person in our gaming group who preferred to play on a different platform than most of our squad. However, PC players are exempt from this equation. If you're on PC, you can only play VALORANT with other PC players. While some games allow PC and console players to team up, this isn't the case for VALORANT.
Can Xbox VALORANT players play with PC users?
No, Xbox VALORANT players can't play with PC users. If you're on Xbox, you can only play with players from the same console or PS5.
Riot Games' implementation of crossplay showcases that the developer doesn't want console and PC players to share the same environment. This is mainly because of the fundamentally different input methods between the two platforms that drastically change the gameplay experience.
Can PC VALORANT players play with PS5 users?
No, PC VALORANT players can't play with PS5 users. VALORANT's PC matchmaking pool is enclosed, meaning you can only match with PC players on the platform.
Playing an FPS game on a PC and a console are two completely different experiences. Keeping the two worlds separate is key for a balanced gameplay experience. While most may think that PC players may have an edge, there have been cross-platform games with console players taking over the competition with overpowered aim-assist configurations.
Does VALORANT have cross-progression?
Yes, VALORANT supports cross-progression. You can use the same VALORANT account on your PC and console. Your cosmetics and skins will transfer between PC, Xbox, and PS5 since you can play with the same account on all of the platforms.
VALORANT's cross-progression feature allows players to carry over their progression from PC to Xbox and PS5, and vice versa. This is possible as all progression is tied to players' Riot Games accounts. The cross-progression features will kick in when you link your Riot Games account with PlayStation and Xbox. I, personally, switch between my PS5 and PC regularly, especially when VALORANT starts crashing on the latter.
