Teamfight Tactics (TFT) is set to bring back a beloved chapter from its past with the introduction of Revival: Dawn of Heroes, a limited-time game mode based on the mid-set update Reckoning: Dawn of Heroes. Running from September 25 to November 4, 2024, this event will be available on both PC and mobile platforms. As part of TFT’s ongoing strategy to reimagine previous sets, this revival offers players a fresh take on champions and mechanics while introducing modern improvements for today’s audience.
TFT Announces Set Revival: Dawn of Heroes with New Features and Progression System
by Inven Global
In the Revival: Dawn of Heroes mode, players will encounter a revamped progression system called the Revival Ladder, which allows them to unlock ranks and earn rewards based on their performance and gameplay style. An updated version of the Pengu Ceremony will also be featured, where the heroic Pengu descends onto the player’s board to offer blessings that enhance unit power. One of the most exciting additions is the introduction of Set Revival Augments, a mechanic that wasn’t part of the original release. New augments include The Monstrous Chopper for the Abomination trait and Death Approaches, a tweak to Thresh’s abilities inspired by his League of Legends gameplay.
This revival is part of TFT’s broader initiative to revisit iconic moments from its past and apply lessons learned from modern gameplay experiences. According to Christina Jiang, Senior Product Manager for TFT, “With Revival: Dawn of Heroes, we’re excited to see players travel back to an iconic moment in our game when these mechanics were once completely brand new but now have become an important part of what makes TFT so special and fun today.”
TFT’s previous set revival, Revival: Galaxies, launched earlier this year and was met with enthusiasm from players. The new set revival aims to build on that success by providing a nostalgic yet updated experience that resonates with both longtime players and newcomers. Those interested in learning more can watch the Dev Double Up video, featuring Jiang alongside Principal Game Designer Keane Tan as they discuss their goals for set revivals and preview what players can expect in Revival: Dawn of Heroes.
Teamfight Tactics continues to lead the auto battler genre with its blend of strategy and dynamic gameplay. Since its launch in 2019, TFT has grown into one of the most-played PC games globally, and set revivals like this one further cement its position as a fan favorite.
